BOUNTIFUL - A Bountiful woman and her teenage son were found at about 11:30 a.m.  on Monday in Blanding with her estranged husband who allegedly abducted the pair on Saturday.

On Monday afternoon, Bountiful police were on their way to Blanding to pick up the estranged husband who was being held in the San Juan County Jail, according to Bountiful Police Lt. Dave Edwards.

The mother and son were reported missing by a concerned family member on Saturday. Officers responded and checked the residence where the two were living, but found no evidence of a crime, Edwards said. Initial attempts to locate the pair were unsuccessful.

Just before 10 a.m. Monday morning, the victim was able to text her mother, indicating she and her son had been abducted by the husband who had allegedly beat her. At the time the victim indicated she was in the Green River/Moab area, Edwards said.

Investigators contacted law enforcement agencies in Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico with a vehicle description. They heard back from San Juan County deputies and Blanding police officers about 11:30 a.m. that the vehicle had been located with three occupants inside. Edwards said.

The man was arrested and held for Bountiful police to pick up. He will be booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping and domestic violence charges. The woman was taken to a Blanding hospital for treatment of her injuries. The son was not harmed.
