Letters: Don’t take God’s name in vain

Dear Editor,

Is this true?

Some people believe devoutly in God.

Some folks don’t believe in God at all. As non-believers, do they think God is nothing?

If we substitute the word nothing for God how will it sound? Consider: Nothing dams you. Oh my nothing. Let’s do away with the whole nothing damn mess.

It is very unlikely that anyone wants to defend; however, taking the name of God in vain is an offense to many. Does it take 90 days to break a habit?

If each of us tries hard to quit saying “Oh my God,” the habit can be broken.

And our speech will sound much better and more mature.

Sincerely,

Dwight Dickson

Bountiful
