WOODS CROSS – Davis County hunters looking to take down a bear this season will soon get the chance to apply for a permit.

Starting Monday, Feb. 10, applications for bear hunting permits will be accepted by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Pursue permits will also be accepted during that time.

All applications must be turned in to either a DWR office or its website, wildlife.utah.gov, by 11 p.m. on Monday, March 3.

Results from the draw will be made public by Friday, March 14.

Those who do not want to hunt bears this year may also apply for a bonus point, which increases the odds of drawing a bear permit in future hunts.

Applications for those permits will be accepted online starting Feb. 10. The deadline is Monday, March 3.

A guidebook for the hunt is available at wildlife.utah.gov/guidebooks
