CLEARFIELD – A long-established Clearfield firm is among companies participating in a trade mission to South America.
Representatives from Albion Labs are among those visiting Colombia and Panama this week on a trade mission coordinated by Zions Bank.
The business trade mission is due to visit those two countries through Friday. It is reportedly the first coordinated group from the Mountain West to explore business opportunities in Colombia since the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement was implemented in May of 2012, a press release from Zions Bank said.
The mission is supported by Zions and FedEx in partnership with the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service and World Trade Center Utah.
Representatives involved include those in manufacturing, safety and security, telecommunications, logistics, building and consumer products, education, finance and legal services.
They were due to conduct one-on-one business development meetings with potential distributors, buyers and joint-venture partners.
“The Mountain West region is one of the fastest-growing economic areas in the United States and has seen exponential export growth over the past decade,” said Mark Garfield, International Banking regional manager for Zions Bank.
“We look forward to exploring opportunities to increase business with the impact of reduced tariffs and related barriers,” he said.
