Darts, Braves sweep season series

KAYSVILLE – Friday night was an exciting one for fans of Davis, Bountiful, Woods Cross and Viewmont high schools.

In the second and final meeting of the regular season, the Darts and Braves each won the season series over the Vikings and Wildcats, respectively.

The win for Bountiful locked up a Region 6 title with three games remaining on the season.

Bountiful shuts down Woods Cross 75-50, capture Region 6 crown

The Bountiful Braves once again proved to be one of the best teams in the state Friday night when they faced Woods Cross for the final time in the regular season.

Holding Woods Cross to only four points in the first quarter, the Braves took a 22-point lead and eventually won the game, 75-50.

Bountiful scored 49 points in the first half and were out-scored in the fourth quarter by only four points.

The win guaranteed the Braves the Region 6 crown. They will have two games remaining in the regular season.

Jeff Pollard finished with 20 points to lead the Braves. Zac Seljaas and Jordan Bleak each scored 14 in the win.

Trevin Knell led the Wildcats with 14 points and had four rebounds in the loss.

Davis sweeps Viewmont behind Kletzli’s 23 points

The Darts took the season series sweep over the Viewmont Vikings with a 64-58 win Friday night at Davis High School.

Elijah Kletzli led the charge for Davis, scoring 23 points in the Darts final regular season meeting with the Vikings.

Matt Morrell and Jesse Wade scored 16 and 14 points, respectively. Wade added six rebounds and five assists in the win.

Viewmont’s McKay Johnson scored 16 points to lead the Vikings, and McKay Butler added 12 points in the loss.

Games this week

Davis and Viewmont will both be at home Friday night when they take on Syracuse and Weber, respectively, in Region 1 play.

In Region 6, the Braves and Wildcats will also be at home Friday night.

Bountiful will host Clearfield, and Woods Cross will host East.

Tip off for all games is 7 p.m.
