FARMINGTON – A judge ruled that a teacher accused of having sex with a student will stand trial.
In 2nd District Court Thursday, Judge John R. Morris bond Brianne Land Altice over for trial.
31-year-old Brianne Land Altice, 31 was charged with three counts of first-degree felony rape in December 2013.
Court documents allege Altice had sexual intercourse with the male student, now 17, on at least three occasions between January and September of 2013.
She was placed on paid administrative leave from her teaching job since her arrest in October.
Altice, a mother of two children was hired by the Davis School District in 2004 and had been teaching at Davis High School in Kaysville since 2012.
Brianne's husband filed for divorce in November 2013.
In court Thursday, the alleged victim in her case testified before the court.
Davis County Sheriff’s deputy John Olsen also testified about the investigation into the alleged crimes.
Court documents show prosecutors planned to amend the charges against Altice to include a count of forcible sodomy.
Altice will be arraigned on Feb. 27.
