BOUNTIFUL – Through March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, customers of Associated Foods Stores can show their support of fighting muscle diseases by buying and singing a $1 green or $5 gold Shamrocks mobile.

It’s a joint effort with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, MDA, and locally includes such stores as Dick’s Market, Macey’s and Fresh Market.

“We are so excited we have the opportunity to send children affected by muscle disease to MDA summer camp by participating in the annual Shamrocks program,” said Sarah Pettit, Associate Foods’ Retail PR and Social Media Manager.

In 2013, Associated Food Stores and its customers raised more than $76,000 for the program. It has raised more than $600,000 for MDA since 2001.

Funds raised at Associated Food Stores in Utah will helps end area children with muscular dystrophy and related diseases to MDA summer camp at Camp Roger in Kamas, a company press release said.
