Dallin Baires (right) won a $100 scholarship savings account presented by Ann Holden Reece, financial center manager at Zions Bank in Farmington. Baires participated in Zions’ Pays for As program, now in its 10th year, where students 13 to 18 receive $1 for each A on their report cards. Though they don’t have to be customers at Zions, they can have $1 deposited to their savings account, or $.50 per A if they opt for cash. In the 10 years since the program began, Zions has paid for more than half a million report card As, according to a release. Additional regional scholarships are awarded throughout the year.
