BOUNTIFUL – Did you know the average household size in Bountiful is lower than the state average?
That and many other facts are now readily available – on the go – with a new Census Bureau App.
The App is called dwellr, and can be used to call up a variety of statistics from cities, counties and states across the country.
For example, with American Community Survey statistics, a user can pull up a list of U.S. locations that matches users’ preferences for such variables as city size, geographic region, job type and income, a press release from the Census Bureau said.
For example, users could quickly learn that the average number of persons per household is 2.99 in Bountiful, 3.23 in Davis County, and 3.09 in Utah.
“QuickFacts” are listed in the categories of people, business and geography. A few people facts comparing Bountiful, Davis County and Utah show: 51.2 percent female vs. 49.7 percent in Davis County and 49.8 in Utah; kids under age 5, 8.3 percent Bountiful vs. 9.5 percent in the county and state; under 18, 28.7 percent Bountiful, 33.8 percent in Davis and 31.5 percent Utah; living in same house one year or more, 86.6 percent Bountiful, 85.5 percent in the county and 82.6 percent Utah; foreign born, 4 percent Bountiful, 4.9 percent in Davis and 8.3 percent Utah.
When it comes to business, the survey lists 5,300 in Bountiful, 25,119 in the county and 246,393 in Utah. Retail sales per capita were almost identical, at $13,579 in Bountiful, $11,177 in Davis and $13,730 for the state, using 2007 figures. .
Bountiful covers 13,45 square miles, Davis County 298.78 and Utah has 82,169 square miles. There are 3,163 people per square mile in Bountiful, 1,025.8 in Davis and 33.6 in the state.
“With dwellr, people considering a move, home buyers, travelers and military families can easily access and explore information on U.S. towns and cities based on data compiled through the survey,” said Census Bureau Director John Thompson.
