A POWER POLE at 1500 South and 500 West takes on a different form on Tuesday, Nov. 19 after being hit. As it was being repaired, power outages occurred in the vicinity. Outages were more widespread two days later when wind storms cut power that affected more than 3,000 homes in Davis County, most of them located in Farmington and Centerville.

BOUNTIFUL — About 800 Bountiful Light & Power customers on the city’s north side were without power during much of the night, Wednesday into early Thursday morning.

“There was a light rain, and a pole started on fire,” said Power Department Director Alan Johnson said.

“It was a main line,” and took about six hours for crews to fix, Johnson said.Power was out from about 10:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

The outage was east of Viewmont High, about 400 North to Orchard Drive, the edge of the city.

“It’s always tough when we get outages we don’t plan for. There’s nothing we can do but put the trunk back together,” he said.
