KAYSVILLE - It’s the time for candidates to speak their mind before members of their own party.

The Davis County Republican Party will meet Saturday, April 12 for their 2014 convention at Davis High School, 325 S. Main, Kaysville.

A Meet the Candidates session will go from 3-4 p.m. followed by the convention at 4 p.m. For more information visit www.davisgop.com.

Davis Democrats will meet the following Saturday, April 19 at Kaysville Junior High School, 100 E. 350 South. Registration and issues caucus meetings begin at 10 a.m. Call to order is at 11 a.m. Visit davisdems.org for more information.

In cases where more than one candidate is running for the same office, any candidate receiving more than 60 percent of votes cast by delegates will move to the primary on June 24.

Candidates are running for a variety of state-related federal offices, including the House of Representatives, as well as legislative seats in the House of Representatives and Senate, plus Davis and State School Boards and county elected positions. Those include two county commission seats and most other elected county positions, such as clerk/auditor, sheriff and assessor.
