BOUNTIFUL – The Viewmont Lady Vikings softball team picked up their third win in four games after taking down Jordan 16-4 last Friday.
There was sparse south Davis County softball action due to the spring break moritorium, but things are back in full swing this week.
Lady Vikings pummel Beetdiggers, 16-4
Viewmont took nearly an entire week off of its games between Manti and Jordan in non-region action, but it didn’t deter the Lady Vikings from taking apart their competition.
The Vikings scored 16 runs in five innings against the Lady Beetdiggers last Friday, eventually winning 16-4 at Jordan High School.
The win was Viewmont’s third in the past four games.
The Vikings scored four runs in the second inning, five in the third, two in the fourth and five more in the fifth inning to take a 16-0 lead.
Jordan scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth, but couldn’t score enough runs to keep the game going past the inning.
The Vikings had 13 total hits, five for extra bases. Riley Tyteca hit a pair of doubles and a triple, and Amanda Varley smashed a home run in the winning effort.
Jordan was held to five hits.
