BOUNTIFUL – The Bountiful Braves soccer team picked up another region victory last Friday, beating Highland 3-1.
Other south Davis County teams took the week off due to the spring break moratorium.
Braves beat Rams 3-1, move to second place in Region 6
The Bountiful Braves boys’ soccer team picked up their fourth region win last Friday, beating the Highland Rams 3-1.
The win earned the Braves three critical points, which helped them jump Woods Cross for second place before the rivals square off Friday afternoon.
The Braves scored a single goal in the first half and two more in the second half. Highland scored its only goal in the second half.
Carson Tinker led the Braves by scoring two goals in the win. Jeremy Burgin kicked in a goal as well.
Highland’s Matt Warne scored the Rams’ only goal.
Bountiful’s win snapped a short two game losing skid.
Games this week
The Braves and Woods Cross Wildcats will meet for the first time this Friday at Millcreek Junior High School. The winner will finish the first half of region play in second place.
Davis, which tied with Weber 1-1 back on March 27, will host Layton on Thursday to continue Region 1 play.
Viewmont, which is still undefeated at 7-0-1, will travel to Northridge to face the Knights the same day.
Game time for all games is 3:30 p.m.
