Olde Town Spice Shoppe

This recipe is great to take as a dessert to a trivia night, bunco, bridal or baby shower, potluck, brunch or any gathering! Everyone loves them!

Ingredients

2 cups ricotta cheese (or one tub)

2/3 cup powdered sugar

1 tbl orange flavor

1 cup heavy cream

½ package square wonton wrappers, cut diagonally into triangles

Vegetable oil for frying (I use canola)

1 cup mini chocolate chips, semi-sweet

¾ cup pistachio nuts, chopped

¾ cup maraschino cherries, chopped

1 orange, zested

Directions

Mix the ricotta, powdered sugar and orange flavor. Set aside. Whip the heavy cream until peaks form. Fold in the ricotta mixture and ½ of the mini chocolate chips. Place in decorative bowl and add remaining mini chocolate chips, cherries, pistachio nuts and orange zest to the top.

Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or heavy pan on the stovetop. Frying a few at a time, brown both sides of the wonton triangles and cool on a wire rack.

Place the cooled “chips” around the bowl of cannoli mixture and dust powdered sugar over all of the chips. Serve and enjoy!
