Buddhist Songkran Festival set for April 19

LAYTON - The annual Songkran Festival will be held on Saturday, April 19 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Wat Dhammagunaram Buddhist Temple 644 East 1000 North, in Layton.

The festival, the Thai-Lao New Year's celebration, draws hundreds to the temple grounds each year, to enjoy authentic Thai food and music.

This year, as is usual, there will be a Tae Kwondo demonstration, the Miss Songkran Beauty Contest, performances of classical Thai-Lao dance, the One Voice Children's Choir, and a Muay Thai kickbox demonstration.

Admission is free. Food will be available for sale.
