Braves shut out Wildcats; Vikings stay unbeaten

BOUNTIFUL – The first rivalry game in soccer season for Bountiful and Woods Cross ended with the Braves claiming a 2-0 victory thanks to solid goal keeping and defense.

Viewmont remained as one of the top soccer programs in the state, taking down Northridge 2-1 last Thursday.

Davis was downed by Fremont in a high-scoring 4-2 affair.

Braves beat Wildcats 2-0, stay in second place in Region 6

Bountiful remained two points behind region leading East after beating cross-town rival Woods Cross 2-0 last Friday.

Alex Simpson scored the opening goal for Bountiful in the first half, and the Braves added another goal in the second half.

Vikings win close battle with Northridge, 2-1

Viewmont remained unbeaten on the season last Thursday after battling to a 2-1 victory over Northridge on the road.

Bryan Correa and Mike Johnson each put in goals for the Vikings, who are now 9-0-1 this season.

Davis loses to Fremont, 4-2

The Darts lost their second game in a row last Thursday, losing to the Silverwolves 4-2 at Fremont High School.

Davis’s Drew Castillo and Gavin Flitton each scored a goal. Davis scored one goal per half in the loss.

Davis hasn’t won a match since beating Syracuse 4-0 on March 20.

Games this week

Viewmont and Davis will square off for the second and final time during the regular season Thursday at Angel Park in Kaysville.

Woods Cross will host Kearns on Friday and Bountiful will play East on the road Tuesday afternoon.

All games will start at 3:30 p.m.
