Ora Clayton will celebrate her 80th birthday. Friends and family may attend an open house in her honor from 2 to 5 p.m. on May 4 at the Clayton home 829 N. 200 West, Sunset.

She was born May 2, 1934 the ninth child of Albert and Maggie Waite Mann. She was raised on the family farm in Bountiful, where she learned to love and enjoy making things grow. The beautiful gardens surrounding the Clayton home are a result of Ora’s hard work and green thumb.

Ora loved playing sports as a young girl, and continued to be involved in city and church sports with her family and friends for many years. She still enjoys watching a good ball game. She also loved serving the young women, Primary children, and Relief Society sisters in her LDS Church callings. She adores her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Ora has a special talent for making friends. Her contagious smile and great sense of humor continues to draw people to her. She made life-long friendships at each of her workplaces which include Southern Bell Telephone Co., Marquardt Corp., Mountain West Savings, and Sunset City. Ora was an exemplary employee always making a difference by her contributions.

Ora graduated from Davis High School in 1952, and married her high school sweetheart, Carl Clayton, on March 18, 1953. The two have seldom been apart from one another since that day. Their daughters and spouses are Robin and Joseph Driggs, and Rainee and Jonathan Browning. They have 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
