Drone workshop set for May 7

CLEARFIELD — Drones are no longer the stuff of science fiction. They feature in the news more and more.

A workshop, “What Does the Term Drone Mean to You” will attempt to explain drones. It’s set for May 7 at 7:30 a.m. for networking and an 8 a.m. presentation

It will be held at the Davis Applied Technology College Freeport West campus, Building D5 in Clearfield.

John Primbs Jr. will be the presenter. He has 38 years of foreign and domestic business experience with both private industry and the military. That includes engineering analysis, international program management and personnel management

As a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force, he last served as branch chief for the NAVSTAR Global Positioning System and chief engineer, Technology Transformation Director, Space and Missile Center.

Primbs also served as an intelligence officer during the Cold War and worked with the NSA and CIA on Unmanned Aircraft Systems Harassment vehicle systems, among other assignments.
