LOGAN CANYON - The Utah Highway Patrol says a Bountiful man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Logan Canyon Friday afternoon.

According to the UHP, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a westbound motorcycle driven by 31-year-old Craig Allen crashed near milepost 468 in Logan Canyon.

Troopers say the driver went off the roadway up an incline and was thrown from the motorcycle.

UHP investigators say the driver was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead on scene.

Troopers say the 2002 black Honda motorcycle caught fire sometime after the crash, and that a Division of Wildlife Resources Officer was driving eastbound through the canyon when he noticed the fire.

The DWR officer called for help and attempted to render first aid to allen, but was unsuccessful.

Troopers say the roadway was closed for approximately 2 hours while an investigation was conducted.

UPDATE: Craig Allen obituary
