FARMINGTON — Attorneys may have the case against Kristopher Lee Ertmann resolved or be ready to move forward with a trial later this month.
Ertmann, 25, was in 2nd District Court for a pretrial hearing last week on a second-degree felony charge of attempting to murder his ex-wife. He is also accused of taking $25,000 from a credit union account that was not his own That is a second-degree felony communications fraud charge.
According to court documents, Ertmann allegedly tried to slash his estranged wife’s throat in July of 2013 in a Fruit Heights park. The two have since divorced.
Ertmann is also accused of taking money from the credit union acount on Dec. 17, 2012.
He allegedly told the teller he was moving andgot a $25,000 cashier’s check and then allegedly cashed the check elsewhere.
Another hearing is set for May 21.
