CLEARFIELD — Secrets to turning wooden pallets into race cars will be shared at a kick-off party for the PARC Pallet Grand Prix.
The annual race is scheduled for Sept. 19, but businesses and organizations interested in participating can learn about successful designs and register to participate at the kick-off party on May 16 at 4 p.m. at PARC (Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center), 485 PARC Circle, Clearfield.
At the race, cars built by organizations, schools, families and businesses are pushed by two runners across a finish line in the parking lot at Layton Hills Mall. The driver is one of the adults with disabilities served by PARC. Proceeds from the event support the center.
Those who attend the kick-off event will also learn about the purpose and history of the race as well as sponsorship opportunities.
“Come learn how to be part of an extraordinary annual event,” reads the informational flyer about the kick-off party. “Join other amazing companies and individuals in our mission to promote disabilities awareness.”
