BOUNTIFUL – The Bountiful Braves ended the regular season with a region title and a 14-game winning streak after beating Woods Cross 8-2 last Thursday.
Davis won its game over Fremont 3-2 in a pitchers’ duel and Viewmont lost to Weber 5-4, though still made the playoffs in Region 1.
Bountiful ends Region 6 play unbeaten, beats Woods Cross 8-2
The Braves beat rival Woods Cross 8-2 last Thursday to end the regular season with a Region 6 championship and a 14-game winning streak.
Bountiful hit four home runs as a team and Parker DePasquale earned a win on the mound for the Braves.
DePasquale also hit a home run for the Braves.
Darts down Silver Wolves in pitching duel, 3-2
With the score tied at 1-1 after four innings, Davis scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and held on to beat the Warriors 3-2 last week.
Connor Blaisdell earned the win on the mound, striking out nine hitters.
Kaden Day went 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI’s.
Viewmont loses season finale to Weber, 5-4
In a closely played contest throughout, the Weber Warriors were able to knock off the Viewmont Vikings on the diamond last Thursday, winning 5-4.
Despite the loss, the Vikings made the playoffs in their first year back in Region 1. Viewmont tied with Fremont with an 8-10 record.
Games this week
The state 4A and 5A baseball playoffs continue this week and will last until next Friday, May 23 at Utah Valley University in Orem.
