Dear Editor,

I gave my time as a volunteer to help a candidate in Davis County as well as to organize the state convention for the Republican Party.

I strongly believe we need qualified, conservative people in office who listen to the people, and not have their own agenda, like Medicaid expansion.

Of the two Republican candidates for the primary for my legislative precinct this June, only one is the right choice: Chet Loftis.

I am personally committed to support Chet Loftis, who I believe would be a strong advocate for the people of my legislative district. I have spoken to Chet at length and believe he will listen to the people first and act in a conservative, responsible manner. I have put up yard signs for Chet and spoken to my neighbors about why he is the qualified, smart choice for me and my family.

Please get informed on the local candidates. Don’t just vote on name recognition or because a candidate lives in your neighborhood. Find out their core values and reasons for wanting to be in public service.

In school board elections in Davis County, please do your homework on Peter Cannon in Davis School District #3 and Mona Andrus in Davis School District #6. Our school curriculum is out of control and the only way to get local control back is to get involved.

Now is the time to get out and help the candidates you believe in. If you would like to get in touch with Chet, Mona or Peter feel free to email me at kks84010@gmail.com and I will get you in touch with them.

“Whenever the people are well informed, they can be trusted with their own government.” Thomas Jefferson

Sincerely,

Krista Simonsen

I don't know much about Chet, but from what I know of Peter and what I've read of Mona, they are the two LAST candidates I would choose.

My vote is Dave Nelson for Davis School Board (district 3). Sorry, but that is my experience. Dave is much more level-headed and doesn't associate with special-interest, fringe-groups. I am really looking forward to a change from Cannon!
