BOUNTIFUL – The Bountiful Braves advanced to the winner’s bracket of the 4A baseball tournament after taking down Salem Hills 6-5 last Wednesday at home.
Woods Cross survived to make it through the loser’s bracket after beating Bonneville 1-0 the same day.
In the 5A bracket, Davis was eliminated from the playoffs after losing to Brighton 2-0. Viewmont was moved into the loser’s bracket after dropping to Copper Hills 6-3.
Braves advance through the winner’s bracket in 6-5 win over Salem Hills
Bountiful scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning thanks to back-to-back home runs by Tanner Redding and Ryan Curtis en route to a 6-5 victory over Salem Hills last Wednesday.
Jordan Hayes also hit a home run for the Braves, who advanced to Tuesday’s quarterfinal round with the win.
Ben Fowers picked up the win on the mound. Sam Merrill hit a double for the Braves.
Wildcats win close game over Bonneville, 1-0
Woods Cross advanced to Monday’s loser’s bracket game by beating Bonneville 1-0 last Wednesday.
Shaden Fisher had a solid performance for the Wildcats on the mound. Fisher pitched all seven innings, allowing only four hits in a shutout victory.
The Wildcats beat Maple Mountain 12-9 Monday afternoon.
Darts eliminated by Brighton in 5A playoffs
Brighton scored single runs in the first and sixth inning of Wednesday’s game against Davis in a win-or-go-home game.
Davis only got four hits in the game and was eliminated from the 5A playoffs in a 2-0 loss.
Connor Blaisdell got the only extra base hit for the Darts, a triple. Kaden Day took the loss for Davis.
Vikings drop to loser’s bracket, lose to Copper Hills 6-3
The Vikings were held to three runs in last Wednesday’s second round game against the Grizzlies.
Copper Hills countered with six runs to drop the Vikings into the loser’s bracket of the 5A baseball playoffs.
Games this week
The 4A and 5A semi-final baseball games will be played Thursday at Utah Valley University.
Winners will play in Friday’s finals.
