WOODS CROSS — Foodies take heart: the Taste of Home Cooking School is returning to Woods Cross High School June 12.
The Davis Clipper is sponsoring the late afternoon and evening event that includes everything from prizes and gift bags to new recipes and a lot more. Other sponsors include Duerden’s Appliance and Winegar’s MarketPlace.
There will be a gift boutique featuring a variety of local vendors’ wares from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The show follows from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Bountiful resident Kristi Larson, a professional culinary specialist, will be on hand to prepare a range of recipes in front of the audience. Views from an overhead camera will be shown on large-screen format on several screens, giving audience members a good look at the action – although there’s not a bad seat in the house, said Reed Stahle, the Clipper’s show coordinator.
“Kristi shares tricks to help attendees become the ultimate chef,” he said. “She creates an atmosphere enthusiasm and of good, clean fun.”
As part of the show, some lucky attendees will receive gifts as their names are chosen at random. In addition, a Taste of Home Show magazine will be distributed that contains a lot of recipes.
The Taste of Home Cooking School is presented in more than 300 locales every year. Only two shows are being presented this spring in Northern Utah, in Logan and Woods Cross.
The show partners with the Taste of Home Magazine, which has been a leader in fun and tasty recipes, as well as production of outstanding cookbooks, Stahle said.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Clipper, 1370 S. 500 West, Bountiful; Duerden’s, 419 W. 500 South, Bountiful, and Winegar’s, 3371 S. Orchard Drive, Bountiful.
