He was born on October 27, 1923 in Ogden to Earl R. and Fern Wilson Wheeler. He grew up in Ogden, a town he loved and terrorized in his 1927 Chevy. He spent 35 years in the Bountiful Jeep Posse. After retirement, he and Andrea spent the next 25 years traveling and spending the winters in Puerto Penasco, Mexico.
After her death in 2000, he moved his winter home to Wellton, Arizona.
Earl is survived by his son, Chuck (Susan) Wheeler of Layton; three grandchildren, Jodi (Trent) Fusselman of Syracuse; Jami (Patrick) McFarland of West Haven, and Jon (Amy) Wheeler of Marana, Arizona.
