BOUNTIFUL — Centerville resident Kyle Naylor sees God’s hand in the founding of the United States of America.

Naylor will be the guest speaker at the June dinner meeting of the Centerville chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers on June 3.

The dinner will at 6:30 p.m. at the Wight House Reception Center, 95 N. Main, in Bountiful. The meeting is open to the public and the cost of the meal is $12.50. Non-members should call 801-292-2634 for reservations.

Naylor, the bishop of the Centerville Canyon Ward, began studying about the foundation of the nation for a fifth Sunday address at his ward last June.

“Because the fifth Sunday was the end of June, I decided to focus my talk in preparations for July, 4,” he said.

What he found through his studies was “intensely edifying” and much more than merely a patriotic presentation, but a doctrinal basis that this is a “choice land,” that has God’s blessing, he said.

Several people told him he ought to consider giving the talk again and he consented to speak at the upcoming SUP meeting.

Naylor is the vice president of WorldStrides Heritage Performance Programs, a company specializing in providing performance opportunities for student musicians all over the world.

He and his company direct music festivals in most of the major metropolitan cities of North America and also produce the halftime shows for a number of college bowl games each year.

His work allows him to travel extensively and to be associated with talented musicians.  He is married and is the father of three and grandchildren of two.
