Letter: Against gun control laws

Dear Editor,

I am a small game hunter. Soon I will hunt big game. I think that gun control is a bad idea. I think that we should have guns. Hunting is a dangerous sport, but it is fun practicing skills with weapons.

Besides, walking through marshes strengthens your legs. It burns fat, which helps keep you thin. The only reason I hunt is for the delicious meat and for the fun.

If you were camping and a bear charges, but you don’t have a gun, you’re dead meat. Gun control would make that happen. If you did have a gun, you could defend yourself. Most reasons why people have guns are for self-defense or for food.

I think everyone should have at least one gun in their house, but in a gun safe. The Bill of Rights says that we have the right to bear arms. The right to have guns is so that we can protect our freedoms. I think we should not have gun control laws.

Sincerely,

Josh Davis, age 12

West Bountiful
