NORTH SALT LAKE — Local Prudential franchises that made the switch to Berkshire Hathaway, Inc., have noticed a difference already.
“It’s opened up new marketing areas for us,” said Sharon Spratley, branch broker in the North Salt Lake office of the realty firm. “We’ve already had a lot of international inquiries on our website.
“We still have the same owner, the same people, the same great service, but we now have a wide reach with our technology and our resource department,” she said.
Berkshire Hathaway is a Warren Buffet Company, and “whatever he does he does very professionally and we expect the same from this,” she said. “It will take us to a new level.”
The North Salt Lake branch, located at 1010 N. 500 East, Suite 310, is one of several offices owned by Steven Roney that make up Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Utah Properties.
Spratley said the Utah operation is one of the larger franchises in the country.
The real estate market in this region, she said, is “holding very strong,” unlike some areas of the country that have low inventories.
“We still have good properties available,” she said.
Continued low interest rates are helping the market along as well
“It’s a little bit of a balanced market right now and that’s what we want,” said Spratley. “Both sides have power – the buyers because they have great lending options to choose from and the sellers because their homes have come back from the dip we saw in the recssion. That’s what makes it so great.”
