Our loving father and grandfather, Bruce Alden Honey, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2014 at his home in Spanish Fork. He was born May 9, 1934 in Culbertson, Montana to Joel Thomas and Claire Montana Hawkins Honey. The family later moved to Barstow, California where he grew up and graduated high school there. Bruce proudly served his country in the Air National Guard.

Bruce received an Accounting Degree from Brigham Young University where he met his future wife, Johan Beutel. Together they had seven children, Randall, Teresa, Diane, Ronald, Linda, Shane, and Lisa. They were later divorced. He later married Wendy Abegg, and they had a daughter, Elizabeth. After they divorced, Bruce was married to Vicki Schaumann for a time, later divorced.

Bruce was a man of many talents, he worked as an accountant, in business, worked in real estate, and was involved in several self employed business ventures. He especially enjoyed the time he spent managing the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii.

Always active, he enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, boating, skiing, handball, basketball. He loved to fly airplanes, ride motorcycles, and especially going to the cabin. He played high school football, basketball, baseball, and enjoyed sports throughout his life. Bruce was involved in the Spanish Fork Senior Citizens and was a member of the American Legion.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bruce served in many positions, including Bishop, High Councilman, Scouting, and most recently, as a Primary Teacher. He joined the church as a convert at the age of 14. He served a mission to the Spanish-American Mission (Texas/Mexico). Bruce continued to use his Spanish language skills in working at the MTC, and Church employment center, and in many missionary work and teaching capacities. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and the many memories they shared.

Bruce is survived by his children, Randall Bruce (Janet) Honey, Pleasant Grove; Teresa Honey Tippetts, Ogden; Diane Honey (Craig) Jones, Cedar Hills; Ronald Kurt (Trudy) Honey, Bountiful; Linda Honey (Grant) Horsley, Layton; Shane Alden (April) Honey, Farmington; Lisa Honey (Ryan) Tippetts, West Hills, California; Elizabeth Claire Honey, Vista, California. He also leaves behind 31 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Spanish Fork 4th Ward Chapel, 353 E. 400 North, Spanish Fork. Family and friends called at the church Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment was in Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
