Letters: Bees have a purpose

Dear Editor:

When I went to a city council meeting on Monday, July 1, they were talking about how people are finding hornets, wasps and regular bees’ nests in their yards. The people want those bees out of their yards. Some of the citizens are trying to catch bees and use them for honey.

I want citizens to come up with a good way to get the bees out of their yards. I know that bees are a good insect to have so people can get honey from them instead of buying it from a store. We should take the bees’ nests down by squirting them with water so they won’t be dead, but they will just be unconscious for some time. What if professional bee keepers could come to our houses and take the bees’ nests with them? I think this is a great solution to the problem.

I want citizens of this country to feel that bees are good insects and good producers to make honey. We don’t want to kill them because they are important for our gardens and flowers. I also want them to know that bees are good producers for honey so that you don’t need to get some honey from the store.

Thank you for all you do and thanks for taking your time to read my letter.
