NORTH SALT LAKE - Fifth grade students researched famous patriots and studied historical events in early American history to qualify for this year’s Foxboro Young American Award.
The awards were presented in July to students at the year-round school.
To qualify for the award, they memorized poems and speeches such as the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere, the Gettysburg Address and the Star Spangled Banner.
Each student also showed his or her knowledge of the location of each state and the outline of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Students earning the honor are Isaac DeLeon, Cali Layton, Eman Mahmood, Mallory Cleverly, Isabel Moriconi, Jenna Plowman and Brynn Austin.
