LAYTON – Police say a 21-year-old man threatened several people using a handgun early Tuesday morning, and now faces man is facing aggravated robbery charges.
According to Layton Police Sgt. Rod Dixon, Asi Winquist attended a party Monday night and became intoxicated.
Dixon said when Winquist awoke, he claimed someone had taken $1,200 from him, and began to threaten people in the apartment complex at 403 E. Morgan St.
During the incident, Dixon said Winquist pushed a woman and called a juvenile on the phone who had been at the party, threatening him.
The juvenile arrived, and Dixon said he brought a handgun with him. He said that the suspect later ripped the gun away from the boy and pointed it at the people in the apartment.
One of the women who had been threatened was able to call police during the altercation, according to Dixon.
Winquist was booked in the Davis County Jail Tuesday, and faces aggravated robbery, theft of a firearm, assault and electronic communication harassment charges. He was held on $25,000 bail.
