Nina Taylor will be retiring after working in the Bountiful medical community for the last 60 years. Nina originally began working so she could help with the cost of finishing their family room. She was hired on the same day she interviewed with doctors Hicken and MacKay. At the South Davis Medical Center Nina worked as an office and medical assistant. She was ready for a change when Dr. Lloyd Walsh retired and she then worked for Dr. Gene Smith until he moved to Texas. She was with South Davis Medical Center for 35 years.

Nina had been retired for 10 months when Nelda Delost, owner of the Medical Mart, asked if Nina would be interested in working a few days a week. Nina was glad to be back to work and thought she’d soon be retiring again when the Medical Mart was sold. However, the new owners asked her to stay. Nina had only been working for the new owners of the Medical Mart a short time when Kort and Sherrie Delost, owners of The Medicine Shoppe, asked her to come work for them. On Oct. 30, 2001, Nina began working at The Medicine Shoppe, where she thought she’d work for another year at the most. She always thought she’d retire when her health declined, and Kort and Sherrie always told her the decision of when she’d retire would be up to her. So at the age of 90 Nina has made the decision to retire.

Nina says she can never thank Kort and Sherrie enough for making her ageing years the best ever! In the 13 years Nina worked for The Medicine Shoppe she never called in sick or was late to work. The customers and employees of The Medicine Shoppe will miss Nina very much, it won’t be the same without her.

An open house for Nina will be held at The Medicine Shoppe, 47 E. 500 South, Bountiful, on Thursday, July 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
