KAYSVILLE — There is still space for teams that want to walk through the night to help fight cancer and to support those who’ve faced it.
Though it sounds like a sacrifice, the night is a celebration, starting with the survivor’s walk at about 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1 and including the lighting of luminaries at 10 p.m., which honor those who lost their battles.
Teams can be made up of families or of businesses and by finding sponsors, teams can help raise money for cancer research.
Only one person from the team needs to be walking at any given time through the night, others can take shifts in tents or campers or under the stars.
The event ends at 6 a.m.
This year’s relay takes place at Heritage Park in Kaysville, 150 N. Fairfield.
Walgreens is sponsoring a corner of the park, with a bounce house and dunk tank. Sam’s Club will have a team and a booth as well. Entertainment is also planned until 10 p.m.
