Dear Bountiful City:
After spending an hour at the "new" park, I have made a number of observations.
1. It is definitely apparent that no mother's input was put into the layout, the toys, and the functionality of this park.
There were approximately 35 children playing at the park – many getting upset because they had to wait so long to play on something. I saw two children throwing up after riding on the many twirling toys.
2. What's with the wood chips? Almost every child had their shoes off a number of times trying to get the "pokey" wood chips out of their shoes.
3. Where are the benches for the parents and grandparents to sit on? Do we need to bring blankets to lay over the wood chips in order to watch over our children?
4. Yes, it is visually impressive, but there aren't enough toys and activities for the number of children wanting to use this park.
My solution – next time ask a mother what will work – it will save you time and money and frustration on the part of the citizens of Bountiful who paid for this "unfunctional" park!!!!
Oh wait, it will be another 30 years until something is done again and then it will be somebody else's problem.
