CENTERVILLE - The Davis County Sheriff's Office said a paraglider crashed near the Viemont "V" on the mountain above Centerville on Wednesday.

According to the sheriff;s office, at approximately 12:44 p.m., dispatchers received a 911 call of a paraglider who had crashed above the “V” in the Forest Service areas above Centerville.

Emergency personnel from South Davis Metro Fire and Davis County responded to the scene.

The crash occurred at approximately 6000 ft., and a rescue helicopter was called to assist. The helicopter crew located the crash site and was able to land and provide medical help for the patient.

It was reported that the patient was conscious at the scene, but the extent of those injuries was not immediately known.

Crews arrived on scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
