Florence Lucille Lees Jacobsen, surrounded by loved ones, died August 18, 2014 at the age of 87. Lucille was born in Salt Lake City, to Lester and Florence Lees. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. She met the love of her life, Melvin G. Jacobsen, and married him on February 14, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Theirs was a beautiful love story. They had three children and later built their life in Bountiful.
Lucille was loved by many. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, friend and example. We are blessed to have been a part of her life.
She is survived by her children: Mike (Kathy) of Illinois, Patti (Ron) of Logan, and Karen (Joe) of Centerville; her grandchildren: Shauna (Patrick), Silas, JT (KristaLyn), Beau (Sara), Cole (Brooke), Zac (Ashley), Amber (Tyler), Trevor (Alaina), and Brett (Camille); 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria (Hyrum) Higham; and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille’s family was her world. She spent many years taking care of them, cooking for them, attending sporting events, and being their biggest cheerleader. Our hearts will mourn her loss, but rejoice in her long awaited reunion with her dear sweetheart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two of her three sisters, and two of her three brothers-in-law.
Lucille’s family would like to send their sincerest gratitude to those who contributed to helping her in her last days, especially those at Welcome Home Care Center and Hearts for Hospice in Bountiful, Utah, as well as countless neighbors, family members, and friends. She was truly blessed.
