Lady Darts pummel Titans, Wildcats beat Rams

KAYSVILLE – The Davis Darts girls’ soccer team contineued their hot start to the season by defeating Syracuse last Thursday 9-1 in Region 1 play.

Viewmont lost its second straight contest to open region play, dropping to Weber 1-0 on the road.

Bountiful picked up a draw against East with the final ending at 1-1 and Woods Cross doubled the goals scored by Highland in a 4-2 Region 6 win.

Darts take down Titans in mercy-rule fashion, 9-1

Ireland Dunn, Regyn Youngberg and Riley Jacobs each kicked in two goals for the Lady Darts last Thursday, easily helping Davis take down Syracuse in a 9-1 mercy-rule win.

Davis scored five goals in the first half to take a 5-1 lead after the first 40 minutes. The fourth goal in the second half ended the game early.

Ally Olcutt, Maddie Garlock and Madi Russell scored the other three goals for Davis. The Darts have won five of their first six matches to begin the season.

Lady Vikings lose to Weber 1-0, start Region 1 play 0-2

Viewmont lost its second straight soccer match to open Region 1 play, dropping to Weber 1-0 at Weber High School last Thursday.

     Skylee Schenck scored the only goal of the match in the first half of play and goal keeper Nikki Pittman earned a shutout at the net for the Warriors.

Viewmont has lost three straight matches after starting the season 2-0-1 with wins over Bingham and Hillcrest.

Bountiful battles to a tough draw against East, 1-1

Early scoring by both Bountiful and East was the only fireworks fans saw last Thursday at Millcreek Junior High School.

After each team scored a goal in the first half, the remaining 60 minutes of play resulted in no goals and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Abby Clark scored the only goal for Bountiful in the tie; East High’s Haley Farrar scored the Leopards’ lone goal of the game.

It was Bountiful’s first point taken in Region 6 play.

Woods Cross doubles Highland in 4-2 win

Down 2-0 to start the second half of last Thursday’s game between Highland and Woods Cross, the Lady Wildcats scored four goals in the final 40 minutes and beat the Rams on their own turf in a 4-2 victory.

Kennedy Yost netted a hat trick for the Wildcats, bringing her season total to 11 goals scored. Kyra Fawcett also scored a goal in the win.

Games this week

Region play continues for all Bountiful, Davis, Viewmont and Woods Cross Thursday. 

The Braves will host the Cyprus Pirates and the Wildcats will travel to East to face the Leopards. 

Davis will host Weber and Viewmont will take the bus to Fremont High School to face the Silverwolves.

Kick off for each match is 3:30 p.m.
