Work on the I-15 EXPRESSLINK project will be moving into its second phase. Between I-215 and 500 North will be reduced to five lanes and shifted onto northbound I-15 in a 3x2 lane configuration beginning in early June. Movable barriers will be used to provide three lanes of traffic in the peak direction. This 3x2 lane configuration will extend through the completion of the project in fall of 2010.
On May 27-28, northbound I-15 will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m.- 4 a.m., so crews can shift northbound traffic to the newly widened asphalt and re-stripe the northbound lane. Following that work, traffic will be moved to the 3x2 configuration.
By June 2-3 southbound I-15 will be reduced to one lane between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., so crews can shift southbound traffic to the new lane configuration on what is currently the northbound lanes.
As part of the work, the 2300 North and 900 West southbound on- and off-ramps will be closed until the fall of 2009. More information on the work is available at www.udot.utah.gov/expresslink.
Work continues on northbound I-15 north of the Beck Street on-ramp, where traffic is restricted to three through lanes. The lane closure will allow crews to safely continue construction on the U.S. 89 bridge.
In West Bountiful, work is continuing between the two railroad tracks on 500 South at 800 and 1000 West, where crews are installing a new water line.
Residents and business owners may experience temporary disruption to their water service.
Between the intersection of 500 South and 800 West, crews are installing new water valves. Motorists should be aware that 800 West is closed and that they should take 1100 West.

Beginning Tuesday, full-slab concrete section replacement will begin on I-15 through Layton and Clearfield, from 11 p.m.-6 a.m. nightly. Crews will be cutting out damaged sections of roadway and replacing them with precast concrete sections.
