FARMINGTON — A one-vehicle rollover north of Shepard Lane on I-15 here Tuesday morning left a man in extremely critical condition, and traffic snarled through the rush-hour commute.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Tyrando Derwin Sachell, 19, of Virginia, drifted off the shoulder of the road in his SUV just before 7 a.m. on northbound I-15 and overcorrected. His vehicle rolled several times. It’s unknown why the driver drifted off the roadway.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cameron Roden said Sachell, who is stationed at Hill Air Force Base, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

A medical helicopter landed on the freeway and took the man to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.

Traffic was stopped in both directions while the helicopter landed and debris cleared away.
