ADAPT Demo Day set Saturday at Snowbasin Resort

Whether it is a 93 year-old WW-II vet bombing down the snow covered mountain in a sled painted with the nose art from his B-24 aircraft or a blind athlete using skiing to empower and free her soul, Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports (OVAS) helps make it possible.

This year’s 7th annual event ADAPT Demo Day will be held March 11 at Snowbasin Resort to help benefit the OVAS program. For a $20 donation, riders will have the opportunity to demo equipment from 18 ski and snowboard manufacturers from 9 am to 4 pm.

“Last year 184 riders demoed equipment at the ADAPT Demo Day, and we gave 120 rides on our sleds. Riding in these sleds provides a unique experience and gives riders a glimpse from our Adaptive Athletes perspective. We are hoping to increase the numbers this year,” said Cindy Colin, board of director and instructor.

All donations go toward client scholarships in surrounding Northern Utah counties: Weber, Davis, Morgan, Box Elder, and Cache. Customers are encouraged to apply for these scholarships which fund a lift tickets, instructors, and equipment rentals.

Large donations and grants from sponsors provide new equipment for the athletes.
