A number of events are planned in the weeks ahead at the Antelope Island State Park. Here’s a list of a few:

March 11 – Guided Ranch Tours

Come and join us at 2 p.m. for guided tours with the curator at the Fielding Garr Ranch. See the entire ranch site from the original ranch house, shearing barns and corrals. Please be sure to dress for the weather as the tour is in the cold weather. For more information email clayshelley@utah.gov.

March 25 – Jr. Ranger Program-Wildlife Detectives

Join us in the visitors center at 2 p.m. and learn how to find clues about the wildlife living in the area. Come and find out what signs animals leave behind and how to identify them. Wear walking shoes and dress for the weather. This program is geared for ages 12 and under but all ages are welcome. Children attending the program will earn an Antelope Island Jr. Ranger Badge.

March 25 – Night Sky Photography at Antelope Island

Antelope Island State Park and Pictureline are excited to offer a night sky photography class. Meet at the visitor center at 7 p.m. for a short presentation on sunset photography and again at 8:30 p.m. for night sky photography. Each presentation will be followed by a hands-on experience out in the park using the skills learned during the presentations. April 1 – International Fun At Work Day

April 14 – Haunted Ranch?

Is the Fielding Garr Ranch haunted? Come and see for yourself. Meet at the Fielding Garr Ranch at 8 p.m. and learn about methods used to detect unexplained things. You will be allowed to wander through the buildings looking for evidence of visitors from beyond the grave. Please bring a flashlight and camera. For more information email clayshelley@utah.gov.

April 21 – Wild Aware Utah-Hiking

Join Wild Aware Utah in the visitor center at 7 p.m.  When hiking in Utah you are hiking in the presence of wildlife.  Learn tips to keep yourself safe and avoid disturbing wildlife while you are in their home.

April 29--Star Party

Members of the Ogden Astronomical Society will be out with telescopes to explore the night sky with visitors. Beginning at 6 p.m., meet at the White Rock Bay Day Use Trailhead to view the sun through special solar filters. Deep space viewing will begin at dark. Bring camp chairs and a picnic and enjoy the evening looking at nebulae, star clusters, planets and more. If you bring a flashlight, please be sure it has a red filter over it and turn off headlights (parking lights are okay) when entering the parking area.
