BOUNTIFUL--The Bountiful High boys tennis team returns four varsity players in seniors Braxton Felix, Bryant McConkie, Mike Kozlowski and sophomore Sam Stobbe ,with high hopes from head coach Tom Smith for an improved season.

“We have a very good crop of new players that have come into the program so we are optimistic,” Smith said. “We plan on doing much better this season.”

Smith said he is still determining the Braves lineup but expects it to be strong, particularly with the new additions to the team.

Also on the team are senior Austin Nielson; juniors Andrew Bennett, Graham Nakaya and Oakley Wilson; sophomores Gabe Ure, Jens Mickelson, Joshua Jenson, Michael Ebert, Mitchell Felix and Sam Stobbe; and freshmen Cody Nielson, Jason Murdock, Josh Palfreyman, Michael Robison and Spencer Ure.

Smith is being assisted by Holly Keddington, Jeff Butler and Stan Smith on the coaching staff, along with team managers Allesandra Harris and Melissa Brown.

“Our focus for the offseason is to continue to play,” Smith said. “I tell the players that the player that has hit the most balls usually wins.”
