DAILY FLASH! F-16 crashes over Utah’s West Desert

HILL AFB — An F-16 fighter jet crashed over the Utah Test and Training Range in the West Desert Monday night.

A search crew located the crash site just before 10:30 p.m. Monday night, and crews from Hill Air Force Base continued looking for the missing pilot Tuesday morning. The Air Force did not release the pilot’s name.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, but is being investigated by the military. “The F-16 was on a routine training mission and is assigned to the 388th Fighter Wing at Hill AFB, according to a statement issued by the Air Force.
