Work continues on the ExpressLink project on I-15 as crews maintain the 3x2 lane configuration on both north-and-southbound lanes. Lanes are shifted each weekday to maintain three lanes in the peak traffic direction. Some weekend and nighttime lane restrictions also may occur. For more information, call the ExpressLink hotline at 888-556-0232 or go to www.udot/expresslink.
Davis County motorists traveling into Salt Lake County, should also be aware of bridge work continuing on the Beck Streets and U.S. 89 bridges and the new 1000 North bridge, as a part of the project.
In West Bountiful, phase 2 of the 500 South construction project is under way. A westbound lane shift is in place, with traffic moving into the eastbound lanes between 800 and 1100 West. The Utah Department of Transportation warns motorists to proceed through the area with caution. For more information call the 500 South Construction hotline at 801--904-4112.
Several projects will keep roads torn up in Syracuse. Night traffic on Syracuse Road is limited to one direction at a time between 2000 West and Heritage Lane while crews install a new storm drain, sewer and water laterals and conduit. Flaggers will be on hand at night. Daytime work along the south side of Syracuse Road will continue, but should not affect traffic.
Work is also under way on a project to widen or re-stripe SR-108 (2000 West) to three lanes — one in each direction, plus a center turn lane from Antelope Drive (1700 South) in Syracuse to 1900 West in West Haven Weber County.
Utility relocation and shoulder work is nearing completion and crews are making upgrades to pedestrian curb ramps near Syracuse Elementary and Junior High schools.
Meanwhile, excavation continues in the northeast corner of the intersection of Antelope Drive (200 West) to place several utility lines. The right-turn pocket for westbound to northbound traffic is no longer in place and the right-turn is very tight. As a result, large trucks headed west on Antelope Drive desiring to turn north on SR-108, cannot make the turn. Instead, they should approach the intersection on 2000 West from the south.
Also this week, crews are installing conduit, storm drain, and water and sewer service lines to Antelope Drive, between 2000 West and Heritage Lane, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Traffic will be limited to one lane at a time, directed by flaggers.
Full-slab concrete section replacement continues on I-15 between milepost 331 and 334 in Clearfield, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly, and on Friday's until 1 p.m. Crews are cutting out damaged sections of the concrete roadway and replacing them with precast concrete sections.
Because of this work lanes will be closed on northbound I-15. Lanes being repaired change intermittently, so electronic message boards will precede the sections being worked on. Motorists should watch for these signs, reduce speeds, and be aware of the closures of lanes ahead.
As part of a project to widen or re-stripe SR-108 (2000 West) through West Point and Clinton, utilities are being relocated and surveyors are working along the shoulders at various locations between Antelope Drive in Syracuse and 1900 West in West Haven.
Roadway excavation and grading will be done from 800 North to 1300 North, and from 2300 North to 6000 South. Crews will also address drainage issues, relocate water meters and work on storm drains at various locations. One lane of traffic will be open in each direction most of the time, and motorists should slow down, be aware of workers in the roadway, and be prepared to stop.
Also in West Point, work is moving forward on the reconstruction of the intersection off SR-107 and 3000 West. Work consists of mostly utility work in preparation for the installation of a new traffic signal. Lanes may be restricted from time to time.
