SMITHFIELD — The Bountiful volleyball team went to Smithfield and gave host Sky View everything it wanted before the Bobcats edged the Braves, 3-2 (32-30, 17-25, 27-25, 10-25, 13-15).

“It’s never fun to get beat, but I can’t say enough about our girls and how tough we played,” said Braves coach Lane Herrick. “They did a lot of good things tonight and I’m real proud of them.”

Bountiful shocked the packed house of rowdy fans when it came out and captured the first game in a marathon 32-30. Sky View bounced back and controlled the second game, 25-17. The Braves silenced the crowd again winning 27-25 before succumbing to the Bobcats in the final two games.

“It was a wild environment and to go in there against one of the best teams in the state and push them to the brink is a positive thing,” Herrick said.
