1936-2009

Neil Christensen was reunited with his wife Gwen Warenski Christensen on July 16, 2009. They were married on October 4, 1956, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Neil was born on October 9, 1936, in Central Utah to Christain Miller and June Christensen (deceased). Dad lived a full life, working at Cudahay Meat Packing and Caribou Four Corners Oil Refinery and shoeing horses. He loved spending time with his grand kids and horses. His life long passion was working with horses including chariot racing, trail riding and team roping. When he could no longer team rope, he took on team penning, setting an arena record at the Delta Center. He loved to take his grand kids to the cabin and just ride and talk. His love for his family and friends was known and felt up to his last day.

He is survived by his children, Kevin (Bridget) Christensen, Janet (Jared) Galyean, Jill (Jim) Stansberry and grandchildren; Cameron, Melissa, and Kyle Christensen and Megan and J.W. Stansberry, sisters Joy (Myron) Johnson, Suzanne (VerrDon) Durfee, Margo (Charles) Evans, and Christene (Dell) Neilsen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gwen, niece Cindy Kaye Christensen-Johnson, and nephew David Charles Evans.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where a visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment — Joseph City Cemetery.
