DAVIS COUNTY ó A day of shopping may help give other people the chance to go home at night. Habitat for Humanity of Weber and Davis Counties will be holding their annual fund raiser yard sale on Sept. 26 (from noon to 4 p.m.) and Sept. 27 (from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) inside the old Foods ETC store at the east end of the Clearfield Towne Square (200 South State). The sale, which helps raise money for current Habitat projects, needs people for all aspects of the event. ##M:MORE##

ìThis is an awesome chance to help Habitat families by donating goods, volunteering time, or shopping the sale,î said Carolyn Somer, a volunteer with the local branch of Habitat for Humanity.

Proceeds from the sale will help support the groupís current Doxey Street Project in Ogden. ìItís a great opportunity.î

The sale will include surplus building materials that Habitat is unable to use for the homes they build, as well as new and used furniture, appliances, tools, sporting goods, toys, and other household or yard care items.

Also for sale is a table-top copier that had been previously donated to the local Habitat for Humanity and was briefly used in their offices.

Donations of any of these items (the sale does not accept clothing) are welcome before the sale to add merchandise. Those interested should call 801-475-9821 or 801-336-0251 and leave a message to arrange for a drop-off or pick-up of items they wish to donate.

A representative from Habitat will return the call.

The group also needs volunteers to help with various aspects of the sale, including set-up, customer assistance, and cleanup.

Set-up assistance will start Sept. 24 and Sept. 25 in the evenings, and clean-up will start the evening of Sept. 27. For more information or to volunteer, please call 801-475-9821.

ìWeíre trying to provide people a hand up,î said Somer. ìNot a hand out.î
