ìWith the project company we have in place, the restaurant should take no longer than 90 days to build,î said Arman Johanson, developer. ìWeíre building a little ahead of schedule, though.î
Buffalo Construction Inc., a Kentucky-based company, is leading the charge in the project. It was founded by Scott A. Gregor in 1997 and started solely constructing Texas Roadhouse restaurants. Now they build locally known restaurants such as Applebeeís, Red Robin and Hardeeís (similar to Carlís Jr.).
ìWe know better than anybody the meaning of being on time and on budget,î said Gregor on the companyís website. ìThatís why weíre one of the best restaurant contractors in the nation right now.î
Construction of the building was slated to start July 2 after the Planning and Zoning Commission approved the removal of one of the two signs owned by Reagan Outdoor Advertising. A week later, city council also approved the measure.
The other sign was supposed to be replaced with another sign donning a ìflag-typeî design, but it has yet to be removed from its original position as the Roadhouse continues to build.
It was initially reported that before the building of the Roadhouse, the existing sign was to be taken down and replaced either before or while the Roadhouse was being built; however, City Administrator Wendell Wild stated that there were a few minor details that need to occur before the sign can be completely removed.
ìA few water lines have to be looked at,î he said. ìSome have to be moved that are in the general vicinity of where the sign is being placed. We also have to look at the water lines that are being placed for the restaurant.
ìOnce those issues are worked out, the sign issue will be resolved.îí
